Dunno about you guys ... But if my 'van burst into flames..... I'd disconnect the tug and move it away from the fire.... They probably weren't there at the time I guess

Looking at the amount of flames between car & van and if the gas bottle was also up front i would be evacuating everyone in a 100m radius rather than save the tug. I am a woose tho

I am a woose tho I'd disconnected it well before the fire reached the front of the 'van ..................................... As soon as you have fire, were all out of there including the tug. No point waiting until it's a fireball. LPG cylinders are VERY scary. I'd never go near one in a caravan fire. For starters the tap on at least one of them will be wide open A wooden framed caravan would burn like you wouldn't believe.... You'd never be able to save it once there fire took hold.

My tug is disconnected as soon as i like the caravan possie. But that is not free camping & possible battery charge via Anderson plugs etc that may have been before what we see above.

G'day Guys, The story behind these photos is as follows, The pictures were taken on Banka-banks Station, N.T. The accident happened sometime prior to 2013, The fire was caused by the owner of the Rig, refuelling his Generator (seen at front of caravan in first picture) the fumes from the fuel were ignited by the gas flame in the back of the fridge, which was running on gas at the time, The owner and his wife were both badly burnt in the explosion but, I believed they both survived after being flown to hospital, I Can't say the same for their Rig, or any of their belongings.

When i was a kid my Cousin and I was mowing my Aunts lawn being kids we didn't want to stop the old mower because it was a bugger to start so we fueled it as we always did while it was running except this day we spilt a bit that ran down near the spark plug the ensuring few minutes saw the mower engulfed in flames and my cousin holding a fuel can that had turned into a flame thrower. Lucky for us we weren't burnt but from the age of about ten have made sure engines are off to fuel. hope the owners were alright belongings can be replaced not so with a life . Bruce
