Howdy folks, looking at an airial for the mini and have found one on fleabay for about 60 bucks, it is a pole type mount and says it's good for digital TV and fm. Is this correct? Can I use the same antenna for the stereo and the TV (obviously one at a time) I was going to put an automotive telescopic antenna on the side for the stereo but now I think about it, its just another hole in the side of the van. If I can get one that does the lot on the pole on the draw bar then.I can run the cable under the van and through the floor, that would be grand.
Your thoughts?
Arty.

It shouldn't be a problem, some DVB-T (digital TV) is transmitted in the VHF band, like FM. So you should be able to use one antenna for both - even both at the same time if you wanted.
Our modern uses the same antenna for both.

Thanks Tim, radio waves are out of my expertise. For 59 bucks I'll give it a shot. Arty.

Hi MM
We bought the Aldi caravan antenna a early last year with the idea of using it with our camper trailer. It cost under $30, anyway we have now started using it with our caravan and while at Bribie the other week we had over 40 digital TV stations and 8 or 9 FM radio stations as well. The TV stations where double up's ie Brisbane ch 7, 71,72, 7mate and then get the same but from Sunshine Coast etc etc it had rabbit ears and was sort of square shaped

I bought a round Omni directional fixed unit of ebay, and it's crap. It only works in VERY high signal strength areas - it doesn't work at home, or most places I go. I even bought a good amplifier as the one supplied was garbage, but that hasn't improved things much. I also have a normal home style directional unit and a 6 meter telescopic pole that works great, but takes up room - not so bad when I'm in the 101, but not viable with the Captiva.
One day I'll lash out on a good one...
