Hi all, just joined this site and already grateful for tip on dating mine by welded A3.... On drawbar. So I know it's a 1973. It's my first van so a bit exciting, pretty original except it has a double mattress where I think it would have originally 2 singles. I will need to get a bit of work done on it and hoped someone could advise on new windows where some are cracked. Do general glaziers do this work? Also the roof vent looks rusty but seems to work, can it come off altogether to be worked on? Roof has leaked at either end but mid section lining inside looks first priority to replace. Is there anywhere in SE Melb or on Morn Peninsula where I could pick up parts and what's best to use on roof to stop further leaks? Would like to get a fixed annexe too, any suggestions welcomed. The plan is to keep it on our block not to restore for touring.

Hiya, when you look at the costs of repair to the roof and buying a fixed awning it may be best to do what many permanent site vans do, make a structure to cover both the caravan and the size annexe area you are after. This can be done to look great or be cheaply functional, depending on taste and budget. A bonus is quieter heavy rain sleep inside the caravan... i am told.

As he said, Put it on your block & build around & over, it will be much cheaper in the long run.

Go the extra centimetre and build the annex so you have an undercover area to resto the exterior of the van, just in case you get bored.
