Hi all, I have come over from the VV forum seeking assistance from anyone in Adelaide who may have a piece of glass, front or rear, from a Viscount hopper window. I have a cracked pane of glass in one and have been quoted $60+ to replace it. Needs to be approximately 1488 mm wide x 240 mm high x 3 mm in thickness. The top corners are square and bottom corners are rounded. I'm not sure if this size glass is just Viscount, other brands may use a similar size pane of glass. I am considering gluing the two pieces together as suggested on VV.
Regards, Bob.

I'm pretty sure I paid $60 for my glass window when I had to get it replaced. Well worth the money getting it done by a professional glass fitter in my opinion. But if youre short on cash why not just seal it and leave it until you have the money?

If you know anybody who has done a lead lighting course they will have the ability to cut the rounded corners, it is not difficult to do the radius cuts, I did a night course on both Foil and Lead Lighting in 1999 and have replaced three windows glass sheets on my last caravan without difficulty. If you are handy and with a little practice you will be able to do it yourself, The Secret is not to press too hard, also take a look at the You Tube Link below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfI11GFZuT0Rattles

Thanks youngdazza and Rattles. I am not actually after advice on how to fix my problem as I have received all sorts of advice. I am after that person out there who has such a piece of glass in the back of their tool shed or in the rafters of their garage gathering dust and wishing to dispose of it. Hopefully I will hear from them in due course while I get on with other areas of my project. Regards, Bob.
