Good on ya Lockyer...and congrats ! and also a big thanks to bobt, maybe it's not said enough out loud but your stewardship is hugely appreciated....this forum is one of those great chilled-out places to hang out thanks to the moderators, as well as being lucky enough to have - in my opinion - so many very easy-going, knowledgeable and helpful members.

Thank you for your warm wishes, I look forward to helping bobt with some house keeping. We are hoping to get a few sections tidied up and clean up some old posts, but other then that, nothing here changes.

poor bugger... a moderator ... I'm off to start a thread on filing down the earth pin on 15amp power leads then .... To see how quickly he can delete my posts and lock the threads like on the caravaners forum  (wow there anal over there ... common sense be damned what your doing IS AGAINST THE LAW  ). geeez atog your a great mate.. It has not gone smelly yet. There has been no progress on it for quite awhile. The reason for its commencement has long gone which has had a big impact on its completion. It still occupies the same space in "The Shed".. Now I am going off track here. well I am going to be the first to be negative.
Why has the new mod moved the ACT camper thread to some obscure location ?
There have been a few other ACT camper threads started since, probably because the main thread has been moved & is near impossible to find. Some of these threads have been moved to various random locations.
We used to have a great list of threads about various types of vans/campers. Nice & easy to find.
Messing with the site like this will just reduce its patronage.

"Ye Old Classic Museum" was intended to contain information about caravans/campers and their manufacturers
The "Hall of Fame" contains threads by members about their own caravans/campers
The main reason for a second moderator on the forum was to clean up "Ye Old Classic Museum" and start posting the threads with relevant information. Both Lockyer and I have moved a lot of threads out of where they were started into the relevent topics. The large number of posts contained in the "ACT Campers" that were not "MUSEUM" related were moved to a new "ACT Thread under "Hall of Fame" Unfortunately we over looked checking to ensure there was a link to point to where the posts were moved, Lockyer has since fixed this.
We are trying to clean the forum up and add some value to some of the threads to achieve this we will be moving more threads so they are located under the relevant topics.

Many want to be able to look up information about their type of van. Look at any car or whatever forum & you will find its divided up by model. The ACT thread is very much technical discussion. Not people showing off their van. If you are trying to clean things up, best make it new user friendly & have threads grouped together by brand/type of van when the thread is technically oriented. Thats what happens on most car forums, I am a mod on one & can say it works well. |
