OK so the race is on for other States to create a mingle somewhere. With so many busy with life as well as a Classic it may well be prudent to arrange some meet ups in a room/pub setting so folks can bring along tablets loaded with pics & vids, or old schoolpaper pics of unregistered projects for discussion. Most interest groups do not bring their project car/boat/thingamyjig to a catch up. The icing on the cake being away sessions that highlight the craft, like the QLD meetup in June or down the track Aus Day and the Bi Annual highlight the VV Nationals. Many places allow free or bar takings areas for groups, even if only 2 or 3 folks get together somewhere regularly it is another avenue to maintain and create interest. As we regularly read around these sites everyone should do their own thing we may pick up some folks who go on to start threads about what year and how the hell do i fix this!  |
