OK in approx. 2 weeks I will be taking our Millard van "WichWay" to the weighbridge
Now I have decided to give you members a chance to win either a $5 scratchy or $50 in scratchy's
All you have to do is guess what the weight will be when I get it weighed. If someone guesses the exact weight (in kilo's) I will post them $50 worth of scratchy's. Now the chances of that happening are super slim so as a boobie prize the person who picks the closest weight if no-one get the exact weight will get a $5 scratchy posted to them,.
A few condition's/rules
The weight (closest) will be the one who is below the final weight ie if someone picks 600kgs and someone else picks 450kgs and it comes in at 597kgs then the 450 guess will get the boobie prize. So in short your guess has to be under what the final weigh is.
You only get one guess and no 2 members can have the same weight, so if it was me I'd be leaving my guess till the days before hand.
I will give approx. 48hrs notice of when I will be taking it to the weighbridge, but will keep all updated as it gets closer.
You can ask anything you like about the van, other then what anything in or on the van weigh's. Please no PM's you must ask your question in this thread only
Here is a link to the build Millard Caravan you can see everything what has been changed.
I post the prize within 48hrs of the weigh in. I will have final say OK
Members need to have a min of 25 posts to this forum to be able to have a go.
Let the fun begin....

hmmm 3 days to go and I have not seen any of our knowledgeable forumites pop up and throw a number in..
My association with those that are in the aircraft industry weigh the paint before they apply it.
how many coats did you put on chassis?
I will throw 630 kgs in.. no rhyme or reason just so no one can say I did not speak up. :-)

OK Wednesday is looking to be D day, I hope to weigh it about mid morning, now there have been a few things added. 1 I will be placing a spare wheel/tire in the van 2 Today I will finish fitting the 3m 4wd awning 3 We have bought 2 foam single caravan mattresses from clarks and they will be in place
The water tank is empty and the gas bottle is half full, I hoping it comes in at 650kgs or less.
Cheers

Hey mate , I'll go 775kgs ,just because welcome to qld . If it's over 750 you need a rwc and the rego is more than double as I found out.

Empty vs full is usually 100-200 kg with viscounts
My Guess would be 675-699 to 775-899 pending on the original specs from the date of manufacture..
Reading tare weights on the side of my a caravan..
Original spec weight would be 699-899 +/- 50kg. For your caravan allowing a max of 100-200 kg Carry capacity this would of been viscount reserve weight guides..

Omg! Ball weight 600kg! You towing with a Mack truck?lol I gather you mean 60kg? Cheers hughdeani No that is the weight of the van while connected to the vehicle , they then asked me to lift the van off the tow ball and then gave me the atm, plus they gave me the combine weight of both ute and van. And all for $5, cant argue with that. Cheers

That would have to be the bargain of century a real weigh in for $5 I assume they gave you a wegh bridge ticket too. Soooo with a 600kg ball weight what sort of vehicle are you going to tow with?? No that is the weights written on some paper, if I wanted a certificate, it would be $16 for each, as the van is already rego ed all I wanted was to know how much I could load it. At the moment we have 50kgs but I will be changing a few things like spare wheel will go onto the ute and the 3.5kg fire extinguster will be down sized as well. So hoping to end up closer to a 60kg payload. As for the ball weight the guy told me it is the correct way to measure it not via the jockey wheel but when it is hooked up to the tow point. The reason is the ball pulls the weight and there are regs about how much a ball can pull but no regs about what weight is on top. He went on to say it is how the t/port department would check it.
