Someone has removed original lifting system, there are cables cut, bits added etc. A small cylinder on tow bar is another ? One end has been removed but we have the frames to redo. Can anyone help, thanks. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted ( Photos attached ) Attachment Deleted

Gidday Caz57
If you hang around a bit we have a couple of forum members that know these things inside out and upside down they will come along and tell you what it is.

Thanks, would love to fix lift system as it's too hard and ugly. Had a Cabana for years and hubby busted himself lifting roof for years, this sorta lifts but is very wonky. Rego says homemade trailer, seems in Qld they do that if they are unsure of what it is as my Cabana had homemade on rego as well.

Hi guys, I am having new arms made and want to put on correct size gas struts. Have seen previous posts and was wondering if we should go with 830mm and 500 neutron. New arms will be slightly stronger metal but stil same measurements. Can anyone tell us where to position struts? Cheers.

I would hire a mobile "gas strut guy" may are worth the investment.

Sorry just came across this thread...yes it's an ACT Cruiser but modified. The side profile gives it away, and the style of the front roof hinge, and even the interior flip-up seatback is exactly the same shape. The back seems to have been remodelled (the fibreglass is polished - unlike the standard finish on ACT's - and has a completely different profile compared with the sides)...that's where the large original ACT logo was embossed (now lost) thus making it harder to identify for the rego authorities. There is much discussion in the "ACT Campers" thread regarding the lifting mechanism, including placement and specs of gas struts. Great unit...and welcome to the forum. Cheers - Steve.

Thank's guys, will see if we can get a reasonable quote for struts to be fitted. It would need to be Toowoomba or Warwick area , anyone in this region have any suggestions where to go.

What's your opinion campers? Would you keep flip up seats as original or get rid of them and make a nicer set of seats?

Personally...I'd get rid of them and make something with front drawers or doors for easy access without lifting the seat.

hey caz57
Keep or change is a personal thing, best you go use it first and see how things work for you then do the restore or the mods..

Thanks guys, we are going to keep it pretty simple for fishing weekends as we have our fully restored 17 ft Millard, not putting in 2 and half yrs work into this one. Will get photos up when we get going, cheers.
