Lets make it official - I added the poll on behalf of awbeattie381, please remember this is for Classic Caravans between 1st Jan 1970 and 31st Dec 1979 OK. Also you must still own the caravan at the time of voting too. Thanks Lawrence!

I pretty much think if you tallied all the members
It will be 50% viscount, 25% millard, 22% franklin 2% other brands
though if you were going to revive a brandname top of that list would be
viscount millard franklin and the older brands listed within the field of choice pending on the size of van you want.....

The "Viscount" brand must be languishing in a cupboard somewhere, I'm sure the brand would sell again, imagine if "Jackeroo" vans were rebadged Viscount?

Franklin are around with new ribbed silver/grey boxes, i have not seen any old school white box variations yet on the road. www.franklincaravans.com.au/ There is the 70s inspired iConic that looks like an egg but anyone with one had better stay away from starting a hall of fame thread with these imposters!

Franklin are around with new ribbed silver/grey boxes, We stayed next to one of the new Franklin Arrows in Broken Hill earlier this year, it was a nice looking van (as most new vans are), but I can't see me owning one. Travelling through SA last week I was amazed at the number of classic vans on the road. The Riverland area was alive with them, although the caravan parks we stayed at were almost devoid of classics (they must all be used for camping). Wallaroo has more than 120 "casual" sites and for 5 nights we were the oldest van there by a considerable margin, there were a few onsite classics, but no others visiting. If a poll was taken on the road in SA over the Xmas break, I believe that Millard/York would win handsomely. Seen a few Franklins and only a very few Viscounts, but Yorks were around every corner.

I am amazed at how many classics are around the East Coast to Sunshine coast, many all modernised as affordable alternatives for families. More set up for free camping and i also have not seem many at caravan parks the last year, apart from a few tradies & their 70s York or Millards.

We are camped on the Mornington Peninsular foreshore, there are heaps and heaps of 'Classics' Camped around us, even watched an old Auto Tent get erected this morning.
They are around and still being enjoyed.
