G'day mm689, and welcome to the forum! Firstly, it surprises me that you've got such a low chassis number for a 16-footer. Are you sure that length is right? When Millard first started building these poptops, they were made in 12ft and 14ft lengths, and it wasn't until about a year later that they started making the larger 16ft and 17ft models as well. Assuming your chassis number is correct, it will be from 1976, and not long after they started making them. When you talk about fixing the wheel arches, do you mean the plastic wheel guards, or do you mean the plywood floor around the plastic guards?? Your chances of fixing the plastic wheel guards are "none and Buckleys", unless you dismantle the van and try and get someone to do some plastic welding on them (if that's possible). I don't know of any sealant that sticks properly to the polyethylene that these guards are made out of, so that's not an option. cheers, Al.

I will measure the van again that is what it was advertised as. Hmm but then again the guy i bought it off said the annex was new and only used once! I think it is the original one that came with the van, and the floor for it is really the awning for it. But that is done now it is all in good nic( just hope it dont leak). As for the plastic wheel arch look like a trip to the sheet metal place to make some up. This is a great forum.

Hi,
I have a similar van, a dual axle 16ft Millard Mini with the chassis number MM4044. I believe that my van is a 1978 model going by the gas compliance plate so your van doesnt sound so odd using this info.

These Millard poptops can almost be put into three different models, which I might call "Series I; II; and III. Series I was the first of the Millard poptops built, and they have a poptop roof made out of aluminium cladding. Series II have a poptop roof made out of fibreglass. Series III have a fibreglass roof, but they also have a different shape window, with rounded bottom corners. I don't know what chassis number separates the Series numbers, but if you look at these threads, you'll see chassis number MM2102 has the fibreglass roof ( 1978 Millard poptop MM2102 ). MM2102 is probably more likely to be from 1977 because it doesn't have the RVMAA badge beside the door. In this thread ( 1978 Millard poptop MM3230 16ft ), you can see the fibreglass roof, and the RVMAA badge just to the left of the door in the second photo, so this van is a 1978 model. If you scroll down about halfway down that thread, you'll see an example of the "Series III" model with the rounded bottom windows on the sides, and a full-size window across the rear. I don't know what the chassis number is of that particular van. I would say that chassis number MM4044 is from 1978, and it would have a RVMAA badge beside the door with a serial number on the badge that should be higher than 031620, because that badge number is on Millard poptop MM3998. cheers, Al.

Hi,
I have checked my van based on the information from Al and I was mistaken on my Chassis number. It is MM4024, not 4044 and the RVMAA Badge number is 34754, which is much higher than the badge on MM3998.
