Hi, I have just purchased a 1970? Franklin Regent. I would love any information on it. It has 8230-2 on the drawbar. It has wooden window frames front and back but I am unsure if these are add ons by previous owner

G'day iankeiran, and welcome to the forum! I've separated your post out into a new thread, and transferred it to the General Section for the time being. Your chassis number shows that your van is a 1972 model. The Franklin chassis numbering system from 1965 up to and including 1972 was based on some numbers, followed by a hyphen, plus one number after the hyphen. The number after the hyphen is the year of manufacture, so a 5 means 1965, a 6 means 1966, and so on up to 1972 (which gets a 2). You can read about a few other Regent models on the forum, in these threads... 1971 Franklin Regent 6447-11971 Franklin Regent 4428-11971 Franklin Regent 42351974/75 Franklin Regent V2541cheers, Al.

Hi All,
We also have an old Franklin Regent. (check out our avatar)
Ours is a 1970 19' (dual wheel) Franklin Regent (No:2459-0) complete with the old circus tent style canvas annex. We love it!
Our Regent also comes with the usual water marks on the inside but is still very sound and tows exceptionally well for It's age.
We don't have any immediate plans to 'reno' it as we like it the way it is but we do like to see what other ideas are out there so we will watch with interest.
It is very nice to see interest in the old 'egg' style Franklins again.
Cheers & 'happy renoing'
