Hi, I'm trying to find out the year of my parents Millard Caravan. The serial number welded on the tow bar is M53608. I don't have any photos but it is a 16ft van, with double louvre windows, white with the brown stripe in colour. The Millard sticker has Millard Roadrunner on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We think it is mid to late 70's.

G'day jj001, and welcome to the forum! I think you'll find your chassis number is up towards the end of the 1970s. The highest chassis number I've seen so far is an M55xxx number, and not long after that in 1979, Millard collapsed and was taken over by Viscount, where they were given chassis numbers starting with 75xxx. If you click on this link to another thread, you'll see chassis number M51919 which is believed to be a 1977 model, so I think your van is probably from the same year: 1977 Millard M51919cheers, Al.

About 650kgs for the 12ft model. My 14ft Millard poptop had a tare weight of 820kgs.

Our 15x8 Millard Gal Chassis has the serial plate of M50352 we have stripped the inside. On a number of panels we found sizings and writing. On one of the last panels we pulled out we found the Serial Number and 1/3/77 written on the back. Very happy to find her date. This forum was great when we were first trying to work out exact year, so thank you all. Hope our information can help someone else.
