G'day Tony, and welcome to the forum! Your van doesn't have the wind-out windows which became available in 1973, so I think you would be looking at an earlier date than that. I also think your van has been repainted at some stage, because it doesn't have the typical pinstriping around the side flash that Coronet had. Coronet used model names like Prince and Crown, but I don't know which model your van is. Perhaps forum member hughdeani can shed a bit more light on your van for you. cheers, Al.

Excellent thanks for the info Al, I have just recently acquired the van but have not picked it up yet, I will do so next weekend. I have seen some posts that hughdeani has made on a simular van but that one was a 12 footer, this one is 10 foot and is a little different it has curved wheel arches. It seems to me that Coronet has cut back on the front end by reducing the front seats quite substantially. In my opinion the van is quite ugly but I like it anyway, from a novice point of view it appears to be quite original when I compare it with other coronet vans which is one of it's appealing characteristics. I am looking forward to getting it home and investigating it's origin looking at the interior it is quite dated with wood crane cupboard doors and typical 70s style fabric. My intent it to not change it too much except for a good clean and tidy, perhaps a change of mattress. Like I said I am new to this type of thing so I appreciate ypur feedback. Cheers Tony

Hi Tony, I have a 1979 10ft Coronet that looks identical from the outside except it doesn't have the small kitchen window and the internal layout is different. It has the same cute "muffin top"! I'd post a picture of her if I knew how to! Cheers, Lisa

Cheers thanks Lisa, she looks the same as mine except for the front windows, mine has two long ones on top of each other. I am in the process of restoring mine, I have done the inside and partially painted the undercoat on the outside. I am just waiting for this heat wave to pass and I will finish it off. Thanks for the reply, I too am not sure how to post photos, lots to learn. Tony
