Had a mate drop in on the weekend while I was working on the van - he's seen the Franklin, but not this one. His first comment when we were outside it looking at it was 'Can't you buy anything new?' I laughed and showed him inside and gave him the full tour. He was quite impressed with the overall look but of course it was 'way too 70's' for him, He was discussing buying a new small pop up - around $25K worth. I told him what the Viscount owned me so far and he did admit that old vans were very good value for money if you were prepared to do a bit yourself.
I wouldn't have it any other way - I plan on having the Viscount for a looong time. 😊 I think I could live in it to be honest if SWMBO decided to move on... 😉😇
I was quite comfortable with the completion of our Vincent. SWMBO was happy that I was back in the marriage. Then came the offering of the Walden (which I cant pick up yet) so here we go again, but without the intensity of the Viscount.
Your friend is looking at a "poptop" for 25K, in a caravan yard this is bottom end, also $10K more than what I want for Vincent?? I know which one I would have!! Cheers
I purchased a 1970 Millard for $250 Spent $150 getting it home on a tilt tray and spent the next 15 or so months restoring it. Spent roughly 10 k on it Came out a treat and sold it for 11 k. Not a profit in sight but it was heaps of fun and kept me off the street and out of the pub. Ha ha I am a retired cabinetmaker so that helped a heap. Currently doing a ACT camper. What am I thinking. Lol. Cheers. Pete
