Hi all, my first posting to the forum. We recently purchased a Topagee Camper which was in good condition for its age but needed a tidy up. The canvass is nearly new but the interior was probably original and had very little storage and no seating. I managed to pick up some NOS paneling at a cheap price and some framing timber from the local hardware store and after a few days work we had a new interior with storage locker/seating on both sides. The electrical system was positively dangerous so I replaced the 240v wiring, fitted an RCD and new power outlets. Next I found the wheel bearings had been spinning in the aluminium hubs so two new wheels and bearings were required and the spare tyre had to be replaced. With the main problems fixed we had a couple of trips away and each time came up with some ideas for improvements. The annex is a tent which attaches via a rope track and gives us a good sized area for cooking and eating if the weather isn't too good. I have a few pics which I will upload later if anyone is interested.

Oooh...VERY NICE!! The cladding around the base looks like it is in very good condition for its age, so it must have been reasonably well looked after. The "Topagee" sticker still looks "brand new"! ;D You've done a great job getting the interior sorted out. Looks nice and neat and simple. Great little camper outfit you've created! cheers, Al.

I have just bought a Topagee shell and am slowly doing it up. Not in as good nic as yours. Was wondering if you had any ideas about the strutts holding it up. Could they be replaced with gas strutts of some type. Would love to hear any ideas you might have. Thanks Toppageejo

I current have two topagee's one in working order the other is getting a 4x4 re-vamp, was just wondering where I can get some high lift springs to put some bigger wheels on the running one?
and the re-vamp ideas to date are going to move the beds to the sides (because for a quick stop over can't open the jackaroo rear door with the beds out), and put the door on the back with a side out kitchen draw, which if I work it out properly should also have a scissor lift so can lift the kitchen up inside the camper to, and going to add a set of 16" tyres because being so light it will be great for the tougher adventures,

My 1978 topagee doesn't have a spare wheel. They are 5 stud 13 inch. Are they Holden or ford style? Any body??

Hi all, we recently bought a 1978 Topagee four, but it needs a bit of work. There is rust in the chassis that I want to deal with. Does anyone know how to get the body off the chassis? I can see some screws coming down through the floor and into the spine of the chassis, but not much else. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Mike.

Hiya,
I've been doing up a topagee 6, it's starting to look good - the canvas will last a bit longer, and when it's had it I can get replacement in NZ for around $1400. My question is.... does anyone know an easy way to change a tyre! There is no clearance under there.....
