Yep, modern 12 volt compressor fridges are excellent. This one would run for around 4 to 5 days off a 100AH battery with no solar connected, my older Engel around 2 to 3 days and its half the size. Not cheap but worth it IMO. 👍

Hello! a little update for you: We have painted the exterior, in an oil used epoxy enamel, just from bunnings and applied with a roller, it came a up a treat! Will post some pics soon. Also almost finished all those windows, what a bugger of a job. Everyone is right, its just long and tedious no matter what determined naivety you start out with! Some of those dust seals took an hour each to slide in, those small bunk bed windows had so many crimps in the dust seal channel... but pliers, and prying them open with a flathead screwdriver and lots of soapy water saw us as the victors eventually. We were so over it we even got our friends around to help and paid them in food and shared some gin. Was much more fun that way. Next up is sealing and reinstalling the windows, we're using butyl tape. Any tips? Also next up is plotting the electrical system. Anyone got a mudmap of where they planned to install what? My uncle is an electrician and has offered to give his advice once we know what we want where.

Great work on the windows, those sort of jobs really sort out who’s really dedicated on their vans. 👍 I used this when redoing all the Viscount windows - vintagecaravanspares.com.au/WINDOW-PUTTY-WHITE-13MM-x-45MM-49mtrs-CB0140-P5846371.aspxGreat mob to deal with too and quick to ship. I buy all sorts from him. 👍 With the electrics, what are your plans when using the van? Going to a Caravan Park and plugging into mains, or fee camping with a good 12 volt system? I’m a Sparky myself and have overkilled my electrics something aweful, but it all works great!

Also caravansplus in the ACT have some excellent articles; link window sealants. I used Butyl mastic tape on "Vincent the Viscount" due to our log cabin cladding. Worked a treat. Cheers

All of the 240v power in our millard is on the drivers side I run an extension lead around the double bed for lamps charging phones etc. The light switches are in the ceiling it was done this way as I have it running in conduit inside the wall and ceiling panels so I know it has very little chance of chaffing on aluminum frame. External lights are 12v.and also have 12v internal lights set up for the odd stop or free camping but that was what suited my family set up. The 240v system also has 4 safety switches 1x 16amp main 1x 10amp lights 1x 10amp internal power and 1x 10amp external power I use the external one as a switch to turn it off when not in use.
All 240v switches and power points including safety switches must be double pole in a van that is when switched off both active and neutral are off at light or appliance .
have fun and hope all goes to plan or better. looks like you picked up a real good van.
