G'day Adrian, and welcome to the forum! That's quite a nice looking Glendale van you have there. When I zoom into your photo, I think I can see that it's got wind-out windows, so it must be from the middle part of the 1970s or later. Have a look on the drawbar and see if there's a chassis number welded there - most likely near the jockey wheel somewhere. We haven't seen a huge number of Glendale vans on this forum over the years (probably because they didn't make as many as the more popular brands), but if you click on the following link it will show up all the threads on the forum that the word Glendale is mentioned in... ditzygypsy.proboards.com/search/results?captcha_id=captcha_search&display_as=1&search=Search&what_at_least_one=Glendale&when_days=4000&who_only_made_by=0You might find some interesting and useful information in amongst that lot. Looking forward to seeing more photos. cheers, Al.

Looks like you are chasing some water damage in the vanity area. Other than that looks nice & Classical. Have the cupboard fronts been painted black?

yeh someone had the idea that black would be good. I disagree.... Sold the oven for $100 to add to the kitty. Will leave the top cupboards and sort out some new doors. new kitched will be a combination of flat pack cabinets and will knock up a bench top. Old dresser gone. Plan is to remove rear window and fit air conditioner. Drawbar was solid albeit a bit of a mess. While tidying up drawbar also located the chassis number. Turns out the van is actually registered until November. Old owner took plates off and forgot to de-register. Either way will be easy to rego in my name as Qld Transport have a record of the previous rego and being where i am (Camooweal - Outback QLD) no road worthy is required for rego. Have ordered some perspex to fix up the windows then will focus on the interior tidy up.

G'day Adrian, You're certainly getting stuck into the job - and it's coming along very nicely. Could I ask you to post the chassis number so we can accumulate more information for the Glendale history? Was the number stamped or welded? And where precisely did you locate the number? This sort of info is helpful to future owners of Glendale vans who come on the forum. Keep up the good work! cheers, Al.

Nice roomy van there. Look forward to the resto - are you keeping any of the period features or dragging it into the 21st century and making it more comfortable?

The number is consistent with what the factory chassis number would be. Was completely covered by the old paint. Adrian

G`Day Adrian i read above you are thinking about a flat pack kitchen set up. Keep an eye on the weight as land based kitchens can weigh anything without issue, where as each KG of water absorbent mdf is a KG of food or beer you can not travel with due to road load limits. Any chance an area can get wet then at least moisture resistant ply is light & strong but if marine ply is out of the spend equation then by soaking in some thinned lightweight paint to seal an area can be amaze. Aagin paint weighs so minimum coatage for maximum saturation is the key.

Apologies on a bit of a delayed update, been pretty busy. So the van was finished off and sold on. Purchased by a lady who lives in a remote community and will park it up there. Few pics
