Greetings all Still here for the moment I was asked about using aluminium framing instead of wood around the windows... Didn't think I would be doing any until later Wrong again So here it is Wedge out the windows with timber wedges The thin aluminium cover strips are levered off Then the timber framing remove except the two uprights .... these I use to locate the aluminium top and bottom rails... Cuts down on time and guesswork Grind the areas to be matrixed clean both on the van and on the aluminium... This roughs up the aluminium for a better grip squeeze a line of Matrix Fast Cure onto the van window edge were the aluminium is to go and clamp the ally to it.. I use timber outside the van to protect the gelcoat and give a solid surface to clamp onto.. Thats it Don't try cleaning up any excess matrix... Trial and error tells me that it is easier to cut dried matrix off than it is to get wet stuff neat. doing it when dry saves on time and mess... no need for large quantities of metho and rags.. The uprights are done after the top and bottom rail have dried. Then the top and bottom can be used as guides for the uprights. Try it It's not hard and does a great job Atog

Nice touch ATOG
My ally frames have a "hockey stick" flexible plastic moulding to provide an inside cover to the top edge of the vertical panels.
This does make it easier than ally if you have curved corners to your windows

Ukbrian That would make it easier.... The aluminium box section I buy comes in 6 metre lengths and cost about..... 20 odd dollars
About two and six in your money ;D ;D
