Gidday Al, I forgot to post this set of details yesterday. Their website is www.crowsnestcaravanpark.com.au if you want to check it out. If anyone wants to go, you just have to make contact with the Park direct. just say you want to book with the VV crowd. I hope we get a lot of people together and make this a Great Event for All. Hi Bano,
Sylvia and I hope we can attend that one ;D Crows Nest CP is fantastic. A good afternoon can be had a Bunnyconnellen olive and wine grove, as well. Lovely couple who own and run it.
Cheers, Ron

Gidday Phil, That is great to hear. At the moment all you have to do is book direct with the Park. Just say you are with the Old Van Mob.

Howdy Bob & Jacqui, "Yep" it sounds like it could be a great get-together, At this stage we are only in the "talking-of-it" part of the trip, It sure would be good to catch up with every-one again, but, A lot depends on the health of the Cheese & Spice which, at the moment is far from being well enough to travel. In the mean time...... A very Merry Christmas to you and every-one on this forum. Cheere and a few, and a few more... BEERS ;D ;D ;D kiwijim

Hey kiwijim, it'd be great if you could make it over. Been reading your posts for so long now would be great to meet you in person. We'll definitely be there. Who knows, I'm sure you've got some stories and tips for a young fulla like me (34 still young isn't it?? Yeah of course it is...) Man, I'll be like a sponge, taking it all in from a master.
Anyway, It'd be great to see some more CC's there, then I won't be the only guy there with the new (33 year old) van.

Gidday Chris, I am sure we had younger vans than that this year. Heck I even took a 1985 Pop Top Jayco to Canungra. That is the way it is sometimes.

Thanks Banno, nah I'm not worried at all, just clowning around. I'm really stoked with all the positive comments we get about the Viscount when we take it away. I sometimes wonder if the new vans of today will still be kicking about in 30, 40, 50 or even more years??? Some of them seem to start showing serious signs of wear after only five years of sitting in the elements. Our Viscount sat out for 30 years before we had it (now it's spoiled and locked in the garage) and still looked pretty good. So back on track - What's the go with the spread Crows Nest puts on? Is it like an outdoor 'pay as you arrive' roast meal? Can you do a bit of camp oven cooking there or are camp fires off limits? Suppose these are Q's I should've asked when I booked, not that I'm really phased either way.

Hey there Chris, Yep it would be great to stick a face to a name , for sure. Theres a few others as well that are long over-due to be seen, As I have said, the trip across will depend a lot on the future health of the Better Half, If any-one knows anything about Diabetes, a reading of 29 on the blood test isn't good. I can only hope every thing can be settled before long, then we may be making definite plans for the next "Thomson Tow" cheers kiwijim

G'day Chris, We travelled up to Crow's Nest from Wollongong (about 1200kms) in the Millard poptop. Great weekend! The Xmas in July dinner is held in the restaurant that's in the caravan park. A 3-course meal for about $27 per head. Bar service available. There's a fire pit next to the dam in the park. The Rotary club had 'claimed' it on the weekend we were there, but we might be able to grab it next time. Have a look at the photos of the recent event in this Vintage forum thread: SEQ July Run. cheers, Al.

Looks like I cannot get up to Crows Nest in July.
I had promised to take the Jaguar and Arrow to the RACQ Motorfest, on Sunday the 17th of July.
Cheers, Ron

Hey guys, just bumping this thread back up to hopefully attract some more interest from the new members to the forum. Really looking forward to the weekend and would love to see some more 'classics' mixing it with the VV's.

All things going well we hope to be able to join you for our first outing, just a few obstacles to overcome. Firstly we need to get Mildred registered and a towbar fitted to the kombi. Looks as if we need to replace our existing twin exhaust to accomodate the tow bar...bugger. Then there's the birth od the first Grandchild due around this time.
Hopefully all will fall into place. We recently atayed at this caravan park in our Kombi Camper and it is a great location so looking forward to getting back again and meeting you all.

Unfortunately Mildred will not be ready in time for this event so I am wondering if we would be welcomed to attend in one of our Kombis ?
