:)Here are a couple of pics of my VN Lexcen sedan. She's an oldie but goodie and with an engineoverhaul a couple of years ago and a repaint at the end of last year she'll have to do me for some years to come. She has no rust and is mechanically good. My other car (Niva 4x4) would be suitable to tow a light teardrop. Here's a pic. Cheers, Ross.

Ross...you're ALIVE!!!! ;D ;D ;D I thought for sure you'd been lost in that new shed of yours, and in a hundred years they'd find a fossil with a hammer in his hand! The old Lexcen still looks neat. Both the VN and the Niva would almost be "collectable status" these days. Better hang on to 'em and fund your retirement with the sale proceeds down the track! Good to hear from you again. Nowwww...what's happened to that Viscount that was under wraps outside your house? Huh? Huh? cheers, Al.

, G'day Al. Yes I'm still in the land of the living. Just. I went down to Deni for the ute muster last week and to see Cheryl (Millie n Me) and came home with some sort of chest infection, coughed all the way home, now my chest and ribs are so sore it isn't funny. The Viscount is still standing outside the house (musn't rush these things you know) waiting for a space to become vacant in the garage. That will happen before Christmas, I have quite a few trailer loads of junk to take to the tip and much of my collection of plastic models will be going onto evilbay after Christmas. I have so many I know I'll never build them all so I'll sell the ones I'm not interested in any more and use the proceeds on the van. Cheers, Ross.

,G'day atog, Yes, I already knew that. ;D The Lexcen has had the engine rebuilt and a total repaint since those pics were taken and the bumpers recoloured. I've never been able to see the point in trying keep up with the Joneses, if you've got a car that's good, keep it that way. She gets serviced regularly by a reasonably priced local (read two blocks away on my way to work which is three blocks away) mechanic who knows what he's about and is a heck of nice bloke to boot. As for the Government's $2,000 cashback offer on a new car, who can afford that? $2,000 is the deposit for a small car that wouldn't tow half our vans down the street and back let alone around the block (the big block that is). I had to laugh at a lot of people back in the '70s when the first fuel crises hit. A lot of people sold their big sixes and V8s and bought small fours only to find they wouldn't tow their big vans or boats etc. I returned from a trip to the Deniliquin Ute Muster a couple of days ago and a day trip to Melbourne while I was there and averaged just on 33 mpg for the whole trip. Not too foul for a family sized car at highway speeds I don't think. On the trip to Melbourne-Deni return she was carrying three people, a fridge and our picnic gear plus camera gear. Cheers, Ross.

Hi Ross Was starting to wonder what happened to you.. Models? based on your last post I assume you have a significant collection.. cars?Boats?Planes? what are they? Great cars the VN's. Don't be in a hurry to part with it. The difference between what your driving and the new ones is not worth the dollars. I parted with mine it was a 5lt I now have a 5.7lt. Performance wise I think the VN was better, economy wise they are on a par. I didn't do it..... (the front bumper) it was the wifes car..she did it..

,Hi bobt, Thank you for the advice on not being in a hurry to get rid of the VN. Mine is a standard 3.8L V6 and I have no intention of getting rid of it anytime soon. It's a great car that will do anything and everything I want it to including towing the Viscount when it's finished in the rebirthing, oops, did I say that word, er, the overhaul shop. The only additions I'll make will be oil and tranmission fluid coolers and perhaps a bigger radiator. As for the model collection, you're quite right. It is quite significant and takes up far too much space, hence the need to cull the stash quite a lot so it'll be ebay for a lot of them. I have a bit of a mixture but mainly 1/72 scale aircraft along with a few cars and some military vehicles in 1/72 scale. I'll keep the aircraft I'm likely to build and the military vehicles and sell the rest as I'll soon be needing the space. I have yet to make up an inventory and decide what stays and what goes but getting time off work at the moment is difficult. Anyting that was or is used by the ADF as well as other selected types from all round the world will be staying and the rest will go into the lottery, status to be decided on the day. Cheers, Ross.

Hi Ross Transmisson cooler.. absolutely.. Bigger radiator. Don't think you will need it. I certainly didn't Just watch the weights and make sure you have the correct tow bar and bracing if it needs it. Bit rough selling off collectibles. good luck hey kiwijimmy it was a wheelie bin that refused to get out of the way..............

;D, Ok BobT, I'll fit a transmission cooler first then see if a larger radiator will be necessary.
