Here it is the stuff you have all been waiting for Lightweight, strong, with insulation properties and a time saver........ drum rolllllllll ....... Fibreglass Honeycomb
Fibreglass what? As the name suggests it is a honeycomb of what looks and feels more like plastic than fibreglass with a multiple of uses.
It is a product that is being used in Refrigeration vans, RV's, new Caravans and marine applications. Comes in sheets 2300 x 1200 approx and in various thicknesses depending on what you need.
Not cheap and you will need to put a finish on either side... Gelcoat and glass or perhaps just fibreglass for the inside of cupboards. Time saving because you don't need to do framing or make carcasses to attach it too.
I'm going to using it for the entrance of the Olympic because it will waterproof that area.
Look it up on the net and think about how you could use it.... I see advantages in getting your van back on the road faster, lighter and stronger..

Just continuing the thread a bit more Got an email from polycore today They sounded like Bubba from Forest Gump describing the uses of Shrimp
Only in their case it was how to join fibreglass honeycomb You can use panel pins, dado joints, glue it, biscuit joint, core spline, Use plywood curved corners, Moulded corners, kerfed and glued radius corners, splined and biscuited curved corners,
Use metal corners, metallic frame, metallic tube joints, angle iron....... that's about all I gots to say about that....Forest
I'm tellin ya this is the stuff to use in vans..
