Just a thought Anyone out there with a slight problem of dry rot in their flooring? The floor in my Olympic had started to rot at the door entrance so.... I thought of using some "top of the range" expensive treatment that penentrated the wood and made it into a sort of resin/epoxy filled timber. Problem being.... little cash ... ... "We don't have the money so now we have to think" Having a fiberglass van means using resin a syrupy thick liquid..... by thinning it with acetone and adding at least 5% catalyst I got a thinner penetrating liquid that went off in about two hours. My recommendations are as follows Try a small amount on a spare piece of ply first Then when satisfied it works use it on the offending floor area. * Pick a warm day * Thin by no more than 40% acetone * Make sure the catalyst is sending the resin off ... often a colour change shows you this is happening. The resin I was using was blue and went a straw/yellow colour * Leave it over night to give it time to set. The temperature and humidity in your area will affect the reaction so try some on a test piece before applying anything to your van. I now have a solid floor and will be using it on other areas that have had some minor water damage over the 40 odd years of the vans life. Made in the shade.. ;D ;D Atog

Thats a very neat job Atog! And creative too, I might try that on the step of the York.
Don't forget to seal it underneath. Most van makers seem slack at painting/sealing that which cannot ge seen easily!

Greetings Hooligan When you say "don't forget to seal it underneath" are you refering to the underside of the ply? Because that isn't accessable on Olympics. Under the ply is a fibreglass shell. In a stunt done many moons ago Olympic floated and towed an Olympic caravan behind a speed boat just to prove it was waterproof!!!! Some still use them on the water. Don't think it would plane somehow ;D ;D ;D Atog
