Hi
We have had our Olympic Rivera for about 4 years, after many years tent camping it was time for a van. The history is that it was sold new to a farmer in Kingaroy. He didn't apparently enjoy the whole caravan experience and so it sat in a shed for some years, until the salesmen bought it 15 years ago. I was looking for a cheaper van and then when taking a short cut down a side street there it was for sale. The van then traveled mostly in the Wide Bay Burnett, Queensland area, and so I find red dust from time to time from the Kingaroy red soil through the van. We have taken it to Longreach about two years ago (3000 kil), without too much drama. Two windows leak at the back and I cannot found the source. I have re silastic around the windows, filled in the rivet holes etc etc. Any potential solutions welcomed. I am also looking to get new decals printed...but they are pretty expensive. I hope to redo the laminate work inside. Cheers Paul and Julie

G'day Paul and Julie, Have you been in contact with Bob Taylor? If there's anything you need to know about Olympics he's your man. He is on the Vintage forum just look up members profile for boblor. Re your window leaks maybe the rubber seals holding the glass in has gone hard and needs replacing? Just a thought.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui.

G'day scullywags, and welcome to the forum! ;D As bobandjacqui say, boblor is the man with all the good information about Olympic caravans. He's spent quite a number of hours researching this brand of van, and in fact keeps a register of all the Olympic van chassis numbers that he comes across. I know one of the other Vintage Caravans forum members has been able to find window rubbers for his vintage Olympic, so it seems all the bits and pieces you might require are still able to be tracked down. And, of course we have our own "expert" on his Olympic, a touch of glass, who has done wonders with his van. boblor is also a member of this forum, although he doesn't log into the forum very often. However, if you click on this link: View Profile: boblor, it will reveal his email address if you want to ask him anything. Unfortunately, the attachment you've added to your post can't be opened unless the reader has Microsoft Office 2007 Word software (which I don't ). So I'm missing out on seeing your pride and joy. If you'd like to have a go at mastering the Photobucket option of posting photos onto the forum, have a read through this thread: POSTING PHOTOS. It can seem pretty daunting at first, but if you persevere, eventually it all works out ok. We've all been there and come out of it without too many bruises. Great to have you with us! ;D ;D cheers, Al.

Hi Bobt
I am after new decals for the van...I had some quotes from a printer but they could not print the large decals for the front and back
Do you know where they can be obtained?
Cheers
Paul

G'day Paul and Julie, Bob Taylor has a contact for your stickers. We renewed ours on our Riviera last year and were happy with the result. Send Boblor a PM.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui. ;D ;D ;D

How did I miss out on this thread Welcome to a fellow Olympic owner and yes Boblor is the guy to see regarding stickers Have a look at my thread and you will see stickers from his printer. Your van looks great.... keep up the photos and any repairs/work you do Regarding the leaks All I can suggest is pull the windows out and reseal them Seemed to work for me ;D ;D ;D Cheers Atog

Hi Scullywags Sorry but I am not the Bob Taylor that bobandjacqui are talking about. The best I can do for you is share a couple of photos of another olympic caravan that once upon a time I use to know bobt
