Hi thanks for all your lovely comments...and yes we are pretty chuffed....can't wait to have a holiday in her...........anyway Wharoonga....I used gloss solarguard house type paint on the van...I painted it with a roller, she had about 5-6 coats ....total of 6 litres of paint... she was back to bare alumiuium in most parts.....I didn't undercoat her..(neighbour whose a painter and done up a lot projects said I didn't need too).....just get that damm masking tape off as soon as you paint....don't let the paint dry or it will lift the paint.....hubby got a little upset I even painted the alumiunium around the fridge vent and door...oh well, I reckon its ok.......shes not as shiney as we thought she would be, I might try and polish her.......once we get the awning on, I will paint the yellow to match the awning tarp colouring...........anyone ever cut down and fitted a dometic awning? and then retensioned the awning? ........could be a job for a pro.....

Those Viscount Supreme's are a great looking van.
Don't worry about the roller and brush paint job. A couple of my mates are panel beaters and spray painters and they told me about 2 rules when doing my own painting.
1. 'If it's white it's right'. Cause white is the best colour to hide blemishs and small dents.
2. 'The 10 metre rule'. If it looks good from 10 metres away, then it's a good paint job.
I reckon you just need to do 2 more things. Repaint the drawbar in Killrust 'Aluminium' or coldgal and whack on some hubcaps or mag wheels and she'll look a million dollars.
My mate who helped me with my van had a black drawbar on his Windsor. Repainted it silver (used Killrust 'aluminium') and the difference it made was massive.

Your van looks absolutely fantastic kcountrychic and I think you have solved a dilemma I was having with the dinette area in mine, which I now think should be the same as yours (the squabs aren't original and look terrible at present). I love what you did with the table and I'd like to ask where you got the table leg/base from please?
thanks Karen

Hi Karen, I saw a table base on eBay two days ago. They come up all the time. If it was down south, maybe someone on this forum may be caravanning up your way going North for the winter and who might drop it in on the way? You never know. Also, caravans Plus sell them and also deliver. Enidb

Actually I forgot, there is a wanted section on this forum. Maybe someone up you way has one in their unwanted pile waiting the next hard rubbish collection? You never know.

Thanks Enidb would you believe I ended up getting a telescopic table leg from the old buy I bought my caravan off for $15! Awesome, now all I need is to work out how to fit it and build a tabletop...and all the rest of the repairs first haha...
