Hi everyone, Just bought this TV for the van, it looks really good, very easy to tune, good picture, not too heavy and with the inbuilt High Definition tuner and DVD you get three appliances running off one power plug (if your van's like mine I've only got one double power point inside, and i dont really like piggy backing power boards with little kids around). So all in all I think it's the perfect accessory for the Viscount 19" (48cm) HD LCD TV with DVD Player $ 299 * * Built-in DVD player and HD tuner * 1680 x 1050 resolution * 2 x 3W speakers * Includes remote control

Hi Chrisandliso, I like the look of that new t.v. you have just bought, Great price as well, does it have the connections on the rear for a C.D hook-up / or play station ? I think I shall have to make some inquiries and see if these T.V's are available here in the West, would look great in the THOMSON. Cheers kiwijim

G'day chippydave (what're you doing lurking around here?! ) These Aldi specials usually get snapped up in the first half hour of trading on Thursday each week, so you're probably not likely to find one now. At our local stores, there's always a line-up from well before opening hours on Thursday morning. It's like the post-Christmas sales every week. However, according to the internet, the Tevion is 12v/240v. You can read more about it in this ebay item #260480220772. A couple of cautionary notes about 12v TVs can be found on these links... forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1271035.html (see second last post) forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/956271.htmlcheers, Al.

Kiwijim, on the side it's got 'RF in, Earphone, PC Audio, Red/Yellow/White AV in, S-Video, Red/Blue/Green Component In, VGA, and HDMI' inputs. Hope this helps. Our local ALDI seems to keeps some out the back to bring out later in the week. When I bought mine there wasn't any in the shop but I could see a whole pallet of them out the back, I just asked and they went and got one so you never know, it's worth asking.

Hi there chrisandliso
Nice score you got yourself. It should serve you well.. sight cheaper then what I paid for the one I bought earlier in the year..
But based on what millard1399 said, best to read the owners manual real careful..
I will this weekend when I can get mine out of the box..

Howdy Chrisandliso,
That T.V. sounds exactly what we could use in our van,
Unfortunately being stuck a way out here in the West, we are on a par with Tassie..........No Aldi
But all is not lost, we do have Power, Lights and K Mart, so hopefully something will come up on special sooner or later.

What are the viewing angles like? Particularly in the vertical plane. I've found some cheaper panels are very poor, particularly when viewing below horizontal.
ie telly higher than the viewing position. Some are not designed to tilt down.
