Capricorn caravan

Gidday all
Ive just bought a capricorn poptop caravan and the only number i can find is next to the door within a outline of a poptop the number 323. There are no numbers anywhere else and there were no papers available (unregistered)
Can anyone advize if this number is the then vin number? I was told its a 79mdl poptop

Just trying to get things together prior to licensing it

Hi westcoaster ,
The 323 you refer to is a Capricorn model,which was around in about 1979-80.
Vin numbers didn’t come out until 1989,so your van will have a chassis number which was C and 4 numbers on the coupling plate,they were stamped on,not welded so you might need to wire brush a bit to find it.
