Hi Everyone I am a newbie on this forum, in fact this is my first email. I am in the process of purchasing an original viscount 20ft tandem caravan. The only identifying inscription is S67322 or it could be a 567322 ( hard to make out whether its a 5 or an S but fairly confident its an S) welded on the tow frame. My question is am I able to check if it is on the WOVR (write off vehicle register) list? NEVDIS do not have any information on this chassis ID. It seems to check out OK with PPSR (personal property securities register) I also don't know the year of manufacture or model. Can anyone of you wonderful people in caravan land help me with these queries. Thanks

Hi Walt, Welcome to the forum. S67322 is the chassis number and was the only identifier prior to the introduction of VINs on caravans in 1989, if it's not showing up on NEVDIS and ok on the PPSR, it won't be on the WOVR. From that chassis number, she's a 1976 Viscount Supreme. For Viscounts built between 1973-78, reading their chassis numbers is quite easy - the letter represents model so S = Supreme, the first number is year so 6 = 1976, the remaining 4 numbers are production, ie 7322nd Viscount built that year. Cheers Shelley
