Hi, This is an open question, seeking any advice or links. I'm thinking of a complete strip down and refurbish/retrofit of this caravan. More details of the actual van are in this post ditzygypsy.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=47&page=1Whilst I'm confident of what I'd find in an all timber framed van (this is a UK Starlight) I'd love to understand what I'll find in the aluminum frame of my York. I suspect timber is still used in part of the frame structure ... but where? e.g. I suspect timber is used at the top edge on both sides. Anyone with pictures of an aluminum van stripped down? What aluminum sections are used, method of fixing and joining etc. There does not appear to be much good web info on how to do a complete van reno from the 'outside in'. I guess it's the precinct of the van builders and those few that have simply torn into it. I'm simply trying to understand what I'm in for. Chassis, cabinet work, electrical, plumbing etc hold no fears ... but that frame and lining (inside and out), give me some horrors. There's a UK Haynes motorvan restoration book. Anyone recommend it or any other book? www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BookFeature_BuildYourOwnMotorcaravanView?new=Y&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001
