1976 van from SA. Has been in the one family most of it travelling life. Original owner did one trip from South Australia to Queensland and sold the van to the current owner when he got back.
A small selection roadside relics scattered round Lightning Ridge. They aren't all on one property - this is from a 45 minute drive round the area. As near as I can tell, nobody is living in any of these vans. There are more you can see from the road where it's obvious someone could be living in the van, and even more in sheds, lean-to's, under trees or further off the road where it's difficult to get a decent photo. A small Bondwood van This one is hand built on a repurposed truck chassis

G'day Zippo, thanks for taking the time to post all the photos. Makes us realise just how many hundreds of these old vans are tucked away in all areas of the country.
Some distant relatives got hold of a vintage fibreglass Sunliner from Lightning Ridge a few years ago, and are in the process of restoring it. Some of the vans in your photos would also make great projects for Classic van enthusiasts.
Cheers, Al.
