Hi all I am Trying to identify a van for rego (I am a Rms inspector ie blue slip) The owner cannot tell me the year model as it has never been registered was an on site van previously From your site (great site) I figure it is a 1978 Millard The Chassis number is M55025 on a pop riveted plate It is single axle faded brown stripe Front window does not go across whole width I have photos available Thanks in advance

I keep the register of known Millard chassis numbers and can confirm 1978 Millard for that number. The model name is a little harder as most of them were just numbers based on length, width and layout eg 157-4. The only model name I know of for that year is the Sunrader and it usually had sliding windows instead of louvre. Cheers Shelley

Hi. I believe I have a 78 Sunrader. Millard. M55084. Compliance plate. 6/78. Have almost completed strip out. I have photos but don't see how to put them up here

I fail to understand the NSW rego process. In Vic (and some other states) when an old caravan can't be identified a new identity such as "1900 model" or "home made" is created by the rego office and a new VIN is allocated which must be stamped on the drawbar. It's a quick and easy process, a few mouse clicks and pfft, done!
