We have an early 70’s viscount, with the original vinyl floor still in place. she has carpet floor tiles in the van at the moment (laying on top of the original vinyl), but I’d like to replace the carpet with something more practical. ideally more modern vinyl would be great, but I don’t want to glue this to the new flooring down and ruin the original. does anyone have any ideas or tips that they’ve used or seen for this ?
thanks, Andrew

If the Original flooring is embossed Vinyl I would place Underlay as used for floating Floor (2mm thick dense foam type) this will prevent the pattern showing through and also provide some insulating, lift the quads if none pre-paint new quads or even plastic quads and fix to the bottom of the cupboards) and use the quads to hold down the vinyl and underlay. I would bring the vinyl up the cupboards if fixing tho the cupboards so as to protect the existing vinyl.
