Hi all. Can anyone advise as to when Franklin Ballarat closed up, and also when did the ‘Arrow’ model production finish ?

I'm sure I've read an article on the history of Franklin in Ballarat. I can't find the entire article on line - I'll keep looking. I remember that in their heyday they were turning out 200 vans a week!
Edit - might have been in a 'Time to Roam' mag. Will have a look through some back issues to see if I can find it.
Edit 2 - yes, Issue 14, but it doesn't have any dates unfortunately.

G'dat myarrow1,
Franklin closed in March 1981. The Arrow model was built mainly from 1970 to 1976. In 1977, the range of van designs changed in the Franklin line-up. If you ever find an Arrow model with a chassis number starting with the letter "Y", then the Arrow model continued to be built into 1977, but I would think this is rather unlikely.
cheers,Al.

For those finding this on search or other means, a reminder that Franklin had a letter then numbers V**** = 1974 W**** = 1975
So higher or lower letters will indicate your year, the numbers being one higher than how many before yours have been built that year.
