Hi everyone,
I just purchased an old van roughly 16 ft long. I'm told pre 73 Viscount but like to know for sure!
The only identity mark is a weld on the top of the draw bar ET86...
Can anybody help
Thanks Brent

After going through a lot of posts I'm thinking Ambassador sometime in the 60s and the chassis's weld number seems weird ET86 the T seems wrong, maybe its 1? As in E186, I didn't take a photo of the weld I wrote it down but was carefull to to write as welded so don't think I made that error? I havnt found a picture of ant Viscount where the windows are the same? All half windows 15 in total... The other noticeable difference is the weld is on top of the draw bar not on the side?

Hi Brent, Thanks for pictures, your van is an Escort, made in NSW.The year is probably mid 70s. It will have a wooden frame, unlike Viscount that has aluminium. Hope this helps Cheers hughdeany

Yep, maybe some similarities but definitely not a Viscount. The windout windows indicate post 74?
