G'day pagans, and welcome to the forum! Is your description correct?? I would have thought the 'outlet' up high is the male inlet socket, which is where you plug in the extension lead from the caravan park power supply into your van. The middle height outlet should be a female socket type, where you can plug an extension lead from your van to an exterior electrical appliance (eg. an electric bbq), or plug an electrical appliance directly into the outlet (eg. a jug/kettle sitting on an outdoor table) Note that the power inlet socket up high on your van requires you to have a plug on the end of the extension lead that has a 15 amp earth terminal. This 15 amp terminal is larger than the standard 10 amp earth terminal that is in normal household power point outlets. Therefore, to connect your van to a household power source, you either have to have a 15 amp outlet fitted somewhere on the house/garage, or you have to use a converter, such as the amp-fibian product. You can also do a Google search for 10A/15A power adaptor to find out what cheaper alternatives there are to the more expensive amp-fibian products. Make sure anything you buy is approved by the relevant Australian Electrical authorities. Hope this helps. cheers, Al.
