Hi Folks, I was lucky enough to chance on my new project, a Franklin "baby" caravan, (in that it's so small and cute) It was advertised as an 11ft, but without measuring it, I think it might be 12ft, the welded chassis number is V5079, which, if I have read the various threads and discussions correctly, its a 1979 model, maybe the 50th one built, but not sure what the V stands for? Any hints or ideas? It needs a "little" work, it's unregistered and has been parked in a back yard for their teenage son for the last 18 months. I've done three home renovations over the years, this will be my first caravan, but I'm excited about it! Any advice as to where to start, what's the most important thing to be addressed first (it's waterproof so that's a good thing) will be more than welcome. As soon as I figure out the photo upload process for this forum I will share some pics. Thanks for letting me join you, it's a whole new world for me! Claire

G'day missclaire, and welcome to the forum !
Based on your photos, you have the Franklin "Hunter" model. Your van has been repainted on the outside (and the inside, by the looks), so the Hunter transfers must have been painted over.
The "V" series of Franklin chassis numbers is from 1974, and the 5079 numbers mean you have the 5,079th chassis built that year, so your van would have been built around the middle of 1974.
If you click on this link it will show you a list of threads on this forum where the title of the thread contains the words Franklin and Hunter. You might find some useful info in amongst those threads (...makes for good bedtime reading ).
cheers, Al.
