Hi everyone, I have a Chesney Kampa GT and the floor has a soft spot. Could this be where the two moulds join together come apart? This is what the guy I bought it from told me it is. Any thoughts? cheers Glassi

Perhaps some photos? Is it a structural problem? If it is just soft and isn't going to get worse.... maybe leave it. If it looks like a problem, then it will need rectifying.

Cheers Atog Hi Atog, no Im fairly sure it isn't structural. I can't take a photo because it's under the vinyl flooring which is stuck down cheers Glassi

I'd leave it alone. In my Olympic there is a soft spot in the floor over the axle. It has been there from new. It is not as rigid as the rest as they had to make room for the axle. 50 yrs later..... still ok.
If it's not broken, don't fix it. 😀 Cheers Atog

Cheers Atog, yea I don't think it's a major concern. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, appreciated. Glassi

If one has easy access to under the soft area & folks notice and comment and it becomes a talking point or worse creates an illusion of "flimsy to others" (as Atog correctly points out this is no structural issue) then a simple fix can be this tape.. www.shapers.com.au/uni-carbon-fibre-tape-22mm/ You can use many glues from araldite, the slow cure stuff just wet it into the tape first, the underfloor area to be done will already have been prepared as dirt, grit oil free & scuffed. You can use a plastic covered (a few winds of glad wrap even)dowels or whatever that is stiff and a bit wider than the tape to propp up to hold the wet slippery tape hard against gravity to firmly bond with the floor underside. Even normal polyester can be used but a heap messier but for those with advanced laminataing skills not too hard. Likewise if you have microfibres lurking aeound (that help strength not just fill like talc- micro ballooons) a handy addition to tame glue against gravity. downside is harder to wet the tape out well.
