Hi, was wondering if anyone could clear something up for me. Just about to buy a very nice Supreme and was wondering if anyone new much about the chassis numbering in the 80s.
the chassis number is S.8.7231 which would indicate to me after reading through this thread that it is a supreme built in '78. The thing is though it is advertised and registered as an 87 model.

Hi tmiddo,
The van will be 78, not 87.
Supremes weren't made in 1987.
When vans get re- registered if the rego authority don't know the age or they take a guess or let the owner pick a year!
Good to see you are asking the question BEFORE you buy it!

Knew there had to be a reason I couldn't find any info on 80s model supremes. Will definitely post some pics after I pick it up. Anything in in particular I should be looking for when inspecting it apart from the obvious rust and water damage? |
