Screen shot of this huge Chesney caravan used in the film Buddies made in Emerald Queensland 1983 release (now available on dvd) about two aussie blokes( Colin Friels, Harold Hopkins ) working a derelict camp and sapphire mining plot and their journey to success, The caravan arrives in the first quarter of the fim when a wealthy family lost on holiday arrive at the camp ,intrigued, and they decide to stay a few weeks and explore the mines/area.Because the characters (Norman Kaye, Dinah Shearing) are wealthy and from the city the caravan had to be special , Sheraton's were usually huge and probably the poshist van going in the day, all the same , Hard to believe that tri axel caravans were used for road travel for occasional holidays. In the film it is towed by a gutsy v8 jeep Cherokee but with basic shepherd's hook style WDH/ sway bars. something you probably wouldn't see today on a van that size. Sheraton the length of the East Coast of Australia 3 times behind an XC Fairmont wagon powered by a 302. I spent 3yrs in one of these with my Parents and 2 siblings. This is the first time ive seen one as an adult, they're huuuuge,

Chesney Sheraton Classic Caravan with 2 doors, Curtains, flywires, Double Bed, Lots of storage, Robes with vanity, toilet, shower, full size fridge, wall unit, oven, four burner, dining table, electric pump, insulated veranda with outdoor blinds, 8x8" attached Room, with shelves, 2 gas bottles. Purchased in 1981. Pretty much original. Has been in Chelsea for most of its life. On chocks. LOTS of extras ie has Brand new air conditioner installed last month cost ($3000), & FREE outdoor chairs & table, swing chair, toaster, kettle, microwave, plants, hose, wooden steps & more.
