Hello, every one. I've been looking at this site for while, getting some excellent information. I'm trying to figure out the year of my van "Earl" He's a Viscount Ambassador (at least that's what the sticker says on the roof), The welded number on the toe bar is an F or E, followed by 5255. Earl has push out windows, is 13 foot long, painted white with blue lightening stripes, round ceiling lights......sounds like a dating web page...Earl likes long walks on the beach... My guess is Earl is a 1975 model, number 2 of 55 made??? How'd I go?  Tina |

Tina Well mine is E8096 and was built in August 1968 so my guess is 1965-1966 maybe definitely not '75 I am sure Shelly will be along sometime and date it far more accurately or post the details here Viscount page

I answered Tina on the facebook page but will post more details here for others reading this  I've dated this number as late 1969 For some reason in 1968, Viscount seems to have jumped from E3000s to E6000s, skipping the 4 and 5000s until they came back to them in 1969, if you have a look at E4620 for example, they found a date in theirs from Oct 1969 vintagecaravans.proboards.com/thread/13231/1969-viscount-ambassador-e4620E6000s-E10000s are a mix of old and new cladding with a couple of E10000 numbers showing old cladding with paintwork from 1967/8 as well as slanted windows and square wheel arches! Dating Viscounts is not an exact science but we can get pretty close with the great research that's been done on the vv forum, Do you own a Viscount page and people sharing their chassis numbers. |

Well there you go I was just working backwards from mine which is Aug '68 and E8096  |
