Hi All, On the subject of oldies being harassed because of their cars, my Mums (86 years young) car bought in 1980, she is the second owner of a never damaged 1978 HZ Kingswood sedan - it was a GMH company car with 253 V8, trimatic and LSD, metallic Blue with white roof and 78,000km on the clock now - always garaged. Just about every time she drives anywhere someone asks her to sell it - her standard answer is get in line after my son. Mum's are great - aren't they !! ;D I'll put a photo on when I can. Cheers TonyH

tonyh Nuthin wrong with a HZ I'm driving a renovated HX one tonner, bright orange two pack, black interior, no air, no radio....just as I like it. ;D ;D The amount of looks I get is quite pleasing. Bought it to tow an Olympic back from Newcastle. On the way down all the way I was getting waves (all be it subtle ones) from appreciative redneck cowboys. I took the inland route. All the caravaner's ignored me or looked the other way. On the way back it was the opposite. Cowboys ignored and the vanners just looked at the Olympic. ;D ;D Had one guy at a service station come up and talk to me for a few minutes about the van. "Haven't seen one of these in years" you could taste the envy and memories in the air. atoughofglass

Hey Tony, All in jest mate ;D I have been asleep from the forum myself (too busy drivin half way across the state buying vintage vans and then trying to find out the history of it). Not to mention buying a 70s Viscount to do up, then doing a backflip, cleaning it up for sale again...... Anyway, one thing, the longer it takes to get time to put up the photers of your HZ the further advanced it will be Cheers, Gristy

Good one Tony a neat looking unit even if it is a Holden (he he!!) Had one of those myself in another life, and bought it off my cousin who worked for the dodgey brothers. Had a lot of fun in it, but the call of the mighty Mopar Muscle car was just to much. Only saying to the bride yesterday that it is 12 months near to the day in completing the mechanical resto for the Val. Can't hurry these things in the country. Just need to concentrate now on the outside.....that's another day. ;D Keep the photies coming Cheers & beers vkgreenie
