^I deliberatly used the sarcastic smiley emoticon after my comment! Nowdays most folks are aware of roof grade sillycone thanks to green shead helpfullness. Twenty years ago it was a classic DIY rookie error. I think anyone wanting to use sillycone on windows should think "is my car windscreen done like this?" Then consider why, the design issue is the frame is water tight and the window sticky gasketed inside a rubber molding. Caravan windows can be reglazed without removing the frame, single to triple window versions. The main cause of needing to remove the unit will be mostly leaks from aged mastic. BUT what if you wanted to replace hail or accident damaged cladding? Then that choice may later haunt you or new owner down the track. ( Or just cut out the window unit with a 1-10mm flashing then solvent expand the sillycone off the cut ally section that is being replaced in total from your window unit. Looking at how newer caravans deal with the main issue, the cut out and skin voids that nice 25mm plastic trim *properly sealed* as a surround then the window unit is tight fitted to the void, again butyl mastic seems the choice. The main advantage being peace of mind that any skin leaks from roof or sides above will mean no penetration into the cabin via window frame and gravity to dispose of the flow via the underside to ground.
