Anyone wrecking a van that has a decent functional door on it? Need 1 to suit the Franklin Arrow. Mine is stuffed and beyond repair. I've been patching it up for months, but it starts to fall apart in different spots. The trip home this weekend proved too much for it - it is now almost torn in half.
Not wanting to spend over a grand on a new one!
Victoriaian location preferred.
PM me if you have something,
Cheers - Gav.

Thanks but I don't have access to that - looks like you need to be signed up to view it. I've never done (and never will) do Faceplant.
Cheers.

Well, that turned out great - found myself a door already. It's off an older van, but has a full sized fly screen door, not a half door like mine, so happy with that. Will go for a drive in a couple of weeks to grab it - it is 450KM away, but I know someone who will be up for a road trip for the day to help with the driving duties. Size looks right, but I'll have measurements later today for it - I'll make it fit.

Snoops, if by some chance the one you found doesn't suit, I've got a Franklin (Hunter?) door frame 1775mm x 560mm. It's just the bare frame with no panels or screen but may still have the hinges attached $25. 100 klms SE of Melb. Cheers, Arthur

I'm waiting on measurements off the other one - if it's too far out, I'll take you up on your offer.

The trip home this weekend proved too much for it - it is now almost torn in half. Snoops Whats torn, the frame or the sheet infill? The sheet in ours had cracked considerably and most of the rivets had pulled / worn through. I took the panel to a flashing joint and they made a colourbond replacement for $20. The frame of ours is still on reasonable nick. The rest would be too, except for a pothole at Alice Springs that I reckon was 1foot deep.

Tin is torn, frame is broken in 2 places - it's been patched before and has broken around the patch. It's had so many holes drilled in it over the years to fit latches, there's almost nothing left of the style. I used to do aluminium joinery for a living - if it was salvageable, I'd be able to do it, but it's just beyond it unless I want to spend 8 hours on a TIG filling everything in, but I doubt the aluminium would take a weld very well - it is too old and would be full of crud.

Ok so I am after 2 doors for a viscount supreme 74 Tandem Hip Roof style caravan. Also a window for the largest side window on the van (see the red metal in the profile pic, that's where the window goes). I can get measurements over soon. I am in Brisbane QLD. Also 2 new parts for my vents...the white plastic rod that holds the end up. Cheers Sparkles
