OK I have an opportunity to get 2 vans 1 cheap & the other free but would like some info on them first the first one is a 15ft Millard rego papers state it's a 1971 model & chassis number is M15293 & has an alloy frame It doesn't look much but fridge & stove work well has gas compliance tag & no water damage to the inside I could find chassis is in good condition & entire floor is solid even the trim around the windows & roof/wall trim hasn't had any silicone smeared around like most old vans do this van is well worth saving in my books & a little tlc it'll come up nice the second van is more vintage I think as it's a bond wood sides & tin front, back & roof even has a tin bath inside not sure if it's original this isn't in good condition at all & would need a full resto for sure as you can see by the pics One thing that gets me is that it's got a dual axle set up which is the first one Ive seen & is about 16-17ft Can't find any tags or markings on this one but thought one of you guys or gals might know roughly what age & make it might be I can get this for free but would like to know if it's a rare van or not before I bother moving it as I think a trailer will be needed but it's only 30ks from me Darren

millard ....old other one .....very old Closest I could come Pete Thanks Pete, I'm hoping Hughdeani can shed some light when he gets time Millard is believed to be 1971 but only going on rego papers & the bond wood one I'm getting a lot of people telling me either globe trotter or Roma & built late50's early 60's plus in the 6th pic to the bottom left you can see the tin bath tub & getting told this would've been a very rare feature in a van in them days but a couple have seen it before also next to the bath you can see the timber piece & green cushion which goes over the top for a single bed I believe also a couple mentioned it was home built but hoping to get out tomorrow to get a better look at it as I didn't get much time due to the rain Darren

Hey Darren Do you have some pics of the front and rear of the tandem van? It will most likely help bobt Well had a better look just now & think I'm closer to the age & make of the van The lady that gave it to me said she purchased it in 2012 but not sure on location other than Vic as her hubby got it, so that fits in with the post mentioned by shesgotthelook The van is just under 7ft wide & just under 16ft long without the A-Frame The newest rego label states it was regoed last in 1988 but there one I can't make out the date but maybe 1956 as it has the olympic rings present & Melbourne Olympics 1956 I'll try to get better pics of this when I get it home tomorrow On one of the labels it's make was listed as H MADE (home made) & plate number was H58259 I could be wrong as I'm reading it from the back serial # is O810294 But there's no chassis number welded on the chassis I did have a look at the sink as some older vans I've seen have had makers marks on them but not this one, it only has a sticker with "Veitch Bros pty ltd Royle UNIT" the tyres are 15 inch but not sure on the rims as to what they might be as I've never seen this style before.

The wheels are either FJ or FX Holden. We have them on our 1950 Bondwood homemade.

Darren - You will need to know which of the early Holden rims you have, as the pitch of the taper of the nut is different from the 215(FX) and the FJ, the threads are the same and if you do not use the correct nut/rim combination the will work loose.
