First classic van purchase advice...

Hi there, 

I'm interested in buying my first caravan and am looking to purchase a classic van. We have a young family with three kids under 5. I've been looking at a few Millard and Franklin vans from the 1970s and others similar to this. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me advice regarding what questions I should ask the seller, and some of the common downfalls or issues that vans of this era may encounter? I don't want to sound like I don't know what I'm talking about!  

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
