i65.tinypic.com/id6i5y.jpg[/IM Hey people, was wondering if anyone could identify this old ( looks like 70's vintage ) pop-up camper trailer ? Looking at buying it for a project but owner has no previous papers for it and has no idea about it's make or model. It's full fibreglass on the walls and roof, wind-up lift mechanism ( handle mounted at bottom on gutter-side ) and the length is 12feet folded. Has seating & collapsible table thus making it a 6 berth, plus another lounge along the front end below the bed. 5-stud wheels, very short drawbar with spare-wheel mount and gas-bottle mount, Electrolux fridge and typical 70's teak laminate cupboards etc. Have added pics to show the telltale bird emblem embossed on front of the roof, plus some embossed symbols on the body sidewalls. Hopefully someone recognizes these as trademark symbols and can shed some light on the origins of this camper...would be hugely appreciated. Thanks guys....Steve.

Hey bambang
do you have another pic of the front? How about a chassis number?

Going by the roof and the layout it could be a Chesney, although I have not seen the birds on the fibreglass like that, but have seen the metalwork under the ceiling. Any photos of inside? Will be able to tell for sure then. Cheers hughdeani

Thanks guys, probably will buy it in the next couple of days then get some more photos. Seems a good deal at around $500 considering the overall condition and potential ( canvas is complete and in pretty good nick, no cracks in the fibreglass, but I will need to have a decent look at the undercarriage and electrics ). I'm inclined to agree with the Chesney idea too, but haven't come across any pics on the net yet to confirm this. Will keep digging ! anyway I will get some more photos soon. Thanks again -- Steve.

Well I have been searching every photo I could find on the net on Chesney pop top's and the one thing that does not match is the roof. All the Chesney the profit is reversed. ie the narrow sections are up and the wide sections down. But this camper is the opposite the wider sections are up I'm wondering if it may be an early Jayco ?? they named all there pop tops after birds.
Edit - No it is not a Jayco, they have flat roofs. Also another thing that doesn't seem to match early Chesney is the wheel arch, photo's of there early ones have the van body going straight through with no arch. Very interesting....

Hi All This is a new one for me. Not a Chesney as the sides are different as well as the entry door. Could Quest have experimented in this area, as the sides are a little 'questish'. Theres my two bobs worth. Cheers boblor

Hi Boblor, Knowing that Olympic did a few "strange models" over the years that it could be one of those? Cheers hughdeani
