Moree NSW, Who has been there ??

Good Afternoon

While at the Brisbane Caravan Supermarket(expo) last week we picked up some of the different regions show bags  and one of them is from North Western NSW and in that is a book on Moree, so after having a read it sounded like a nice place to go for a weekend.

So has any members here stayed at Moree ? Is there a bit to look at over a weekend ? I can only find 3 caravan parks 2 in town and one 15klm+ out of town, so we will not be using this one but there is the "Mehi River Van Park" and the "Gwydir Motel Carapark & Thermal Pools" anything good or bad about either of these ?

We haven't set a date or even a month yet but we would arrive there Friday and leave Sunday arvo so I'm keen to find out more about the place, plus I love going bush.

Edit...I have just found out you can camp/caravan at the show grounds which is close to town.

Yes we have stayed at Moree but cant remember which one we stayed in.
I think it was near the Thermal pools.

You have to try the hot springs -- GREAT this time of the year!!!

The Camps book will show you where you can "Free Camp" in the areas around town.

Oh yes I will be giving the thermal pools a work out..  been in them out at Lightening Ridge and Longreach way as well. But we don't look like going till October so hopefully it won't be to warm. While there will most likely stop at the showgrounds but will free camp down and back ie leave Thursday afternoon/evening and stop about halfway (Wyaga) and same coming home leave Sunday arvo and stop at same area, I think..

Other then the spring do you recall if there anything else you enjoyed while there ??

We have stayed at "Gwydir Motel Carapark & Thermal Pools" a number of times. The parks attraction is the pools. Its an ok stay. We use the place for "One Night Stands"
