After seeing Atogs new awning light on the Olympic, I just had to go and find one for the Thomson. Here it is.....a new Halogen 12v awning light off a Jayco Expander-van. not cheap at around $ 60.00 but nothing is too good for the Thomson.......... ;D ;D ;D Pretty "AH" kiwijim ;D ;D

Hi Kiwijim Very nice light. Must admit I have not taken too much notice of external lights on the outside of other caravans. Personally I am still trying to get my head around how the "what ever" I have was put together and held together... bobt perhaps if I had one like that I could see the way!!!

G'Day Bobt, Yes that "What ever"..........".Yep" they can be a pain in the B##@ I had trouble with the one on my van a little while back, I found that if you grab it in both hands.......... shake the living day-lights out of it. give it a good clout with a "Thinger-me-jig" then you will usually find that the "Watsie" normally falls out of it. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D if this and all else fails..........paint it white, call it a Classic........ you never know who will make an offer for it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Cheers and Beers kiwijim

Bobt, That's a real ripper Teardrop, Caravanette, Camper-trailer you have there, ;D Yes, you may have a problem attaching a light to it, better make it a small one, don't want the roof dropping on you. I think you may have a bit of a challenge in rebuilding this van, thats one I would love to get into the workshop myself, Any info as-to where you found it, what year is it.... Etc Etc ? ? I have seen photo's of other Teardrops stored under a lean-to, possibly on the V V web site. One of these may be my next project ( if I can find one ) good luck with the rebuild. kiwijim

Kiwijim, I reckon some outside lights like these would be more in keeping with the refined quality of the Thomson... ;D cheers, Al.

G'Day Gang, "Say Al" those lights would look go as side lights on the Thomson, but unfortunately they would make the van over-width, I think there is an Olympic around some-where that is a bit thinner than the Thomson, they would really look good on that, fitted with red flashing globes we could all tell when a certain gentleman up north finally hits the road. Atog.....to answer your question, Yes the Jayco light sends out a brilliant light, the 8W halogen globe easily lights up the full length of the Thomson (17ft 2") and outward for some 4-5 mt. The earlier version of this light is about $20.00 cheaper but if the globe blows the whole light has to be unscrewed from the wall for repairs, the latest one which I bought has a snap-on top cover which means no unscrewing, just a twist of a screw driver and there is the globe, replaceable in a couple of secs. Cheers kiwijim

Gday guys Great lights Kiwijim gives the girl an elegant touch. Al's lights would be great on a Gothic themed van painted Gloss Black with black laced curtains Who would like to add more to the GHOST Van Let the imagination fly and what brand would make a good base to start with? ?

, Could these be used as clearance lights on bobt's UAS. ;D Surely it wouldn't be overwidth with these hanging off the side. Oh, and it looks as though it already has the wooden drawbridge, at the front end. Also looks like it has a platform on the back end like those old train carriages used to have. Cheers, Ross.
