Thanks guys the reply's guys, They keep me motivated. Ive got less that 8 weeks and ill be moving into it. Finished or not Al. I read your thread on your resto from cover to cover so to speak. Its how i came across this forum in the first place When i saw your jig i thought bugger that i can use the forklifts at work lockyer. Thanks for the concern im not overly fussed about running it on 12v. Between my 110ltr weaco and 40ltr engel ill survive off grid without it. As of today i suddenly remembered that my pet annoyance last time i lived in it full time was that i had no set sitting/dinning area I was forced to lounge on the bed n eat in bed etc. to top it off Im not happy with the condition of the kitchen cabinets. The laminate has had it and i feel its going to be a waste to paint. So im thinking im going the next step and ripping it out to and putting a split kitchen in the middle of the van with the bed east west at back and a dinette at the front where the kitchen used to be. But the bed will have to be single or a small 1200mm wide double. But.. This will mean that i will be moving into it as a bare shell but ive got a stretcher bed and i eat out 90% of the time so it'll just mean ill have to work on it while living in it. If i go down this route ill paint all the walls and the remaining over head cupboards and replace the floor covering with the new vinyl and then lay out the new interior on top. And i have a crazy idea about the material im going to use to build the interior out of but that's going to be a surprise Chuck. PS: I made page 2 .... I didn't think that was ever going to happen!

Sounds good Chuck, i have not even bothered with fridge, i have an esky but when cooking for 1 the economy of scale is not there so more often chasing Pub specials means better and cheaper eating with no washing up!

So Ummm slight drama i have found more water damage in the walls behind the kitchen. I'm seriously considering ripping the whole damn lot out and starting from scratch. Then i can move all the power points lights and insulate the van at the same time.

That will teach you not to look too far! At least you will end up with an outcome that will be what you need & want, "just add time & hard work"
