Hi all,
I am currently designing a new cupboard over our kitchen (the previous one was ripped out due to water damage by the previous owners). I am trying to build a replacement that looks as factory as possible but I am struggling to settle on how deep to make it.
Would someone be able to measure the dept of their cupboard please so I can finally rest on a measurement!
At present, I plan on building just a central cupboard. If down the track we decide we need more storage (or have a child), I can always build the insert cupboards that will connect the central cupboard to the front and rear cupboards for more storage. At this point I am just happy to keep the weight down.

Thanks Ted.
I assume you re-skinned in 3mm ply? Where in sydney do you buy it? Mr ply and wood?

Andrew I used 2.7mm ply. I got Gunnersens ply but they don't sell directly to public so they gave me the hardware who I could buy it from. They gave me samples so that I could take to the hardware to order the correct ply I needed.

Thanks guys. I have used that 3mm mdf veneer for 2 replacement ceiling panels (which I have never been keen on - but thats the best bunnings could offer) but dont want to do cupboard skins with the same stuff. Ply is much better (and lighter). Will check out gunnersons and find out if my local hardware store can order it in.
