Does anyone know if I can replace the old brass shackle bushes with nolathane ones?

If you know if you have a Holden, Ford or Valiant suspension then maybe some car types will know, your van is most likely lighter than any of those old mediuam size saloons/station waggons.

Yes you can, try a trailor place , thats where i foud mine. Take spring and bolt with you Regards Peter

Thank you for the advice Peter. I found some bushes that fit apart from being 10mm to short so I bought 3 and cut the extra to make it work. I have just replaced the coupling and todays effort will be to replace the hydraulic brake system. Thanks again :-)

Hello jack, on my 1975 franklin statesman I replaced the brake pipes, hose, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes, had the springs re tempered & raised, bought new 14" rims 'n new truck tyres so all the running gear is new! Lucky I removed the brake pipe as where it lays in the drawbar channel over the last 40 years had almost rusted through in many places - imagine pressing the brake in an emergency!! like going down the side of a mountain or someone propping in front of you - then the rusty brake pipe bursts!! ouch!
